Dorothy Ryan

Dot has been a resident of Town Village for years and leaves behind many friends who will miss her greatly.

She was a WWII veteran stationed in Washing DC and worked in Naval Intelligence. She served as president of the Birmingham Waves of WWII here in Birmingham for many years. She was active in the Red Hatters and her Church. She was married

to the love of life Rueben (Pete) Ryan for over 50 years before his death. She leaves behind two daughters, Regina Ryan and

Rita Ryan. Grandchildren, Ashley French, Danielle Weir and Alicia Weir, Her niece Donna Killough who loved and cared for her; three brothers in Tuscaloosa, James (Buddy) Latham, Doug Latham, and Gerald Latham; two Sisters, Ruby Perrone in South Carolina and Elizabeth Rittenberry of Tuscaloosa; many nieces and Nephews who loved and adored this most wonderful woman. Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2012 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 30 at 11 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel.
