WHATLEY, DOROTHY S, age 89 of Birmingham, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.P. “Bill” Whatley; parents, Milton and Willie Mae Stokes; brothers, James, Robert, Billy, Earl, Wayne and Arthur Stokes; and sisters, Ora Lee Phillips, Katherine Ulmer, and Sarah Clayton. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Berry; son, William Whatley; sisters, Lorene Sloan and Gail Brumback; sister-in-law, Mary Stokes; grandsons, Chris Berry (Tiffanie) and Patrick Berry; and many nieces and nephews. Dot was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, she loved the Lord and faithfully worked to share his love to all. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and blessing to all. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 12-2 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
