She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Mahlon Yarbrough of Decatur, AL. She was the daughter of Dr. William H. Curl, a minister in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church and his wife, Verlie McGlawn Curl. She was the sister of Dr. William E. Curl, also a minister in the North Alabam Conference and his wife, Fay Little Curl.
She and Mahlon had three children, Sharon Y. Ruff (Don), Roy Yarbrough (Cathy) and Cindy Y. Brown (Richard). She was grandmother of six, Jeni Warden (Greg), Krisi Waugh (John), Jessica Yarbrough (Erika), Will Yarbrough (Erin), Emily Dial (Rob) and Tim Brown (Melanie); and ten great-grandchildren, Nat Smith (Madison), Bethany Warden, John Robert and Jackson Waugh, Heidi, Tessa and Robbie Yarbrough, Harris and Alma Grace Dial, and Charlie Yarbrough.
Over the years, she taught school in DeKalb County, AL, worked at banks in Huntsville, AL and Hattiesburg, MS. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends at the banks and at many churches where she taught Sunday School over the years. The family thanks Amedisys Hospice of Birmingham for their kindness and care. Memorials should be sent to Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover, AL.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel beginning at 2:00.
