Edgar English Echols, III (“Eddie”) passed away at his home on March 6, 2022. Eddie was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia. Their dedication to each other was a joy for everyone who knew them and we all admired and reveled in its beauty. Eddie’s other passions were hunting and fishing. No matter who he was with, he out hunted them, and always caught more fish, bigger fish, and told bigger stories about his fish than the rest of us. Eddie’s kindness and joy for life will be missed. Eddie is survived by his three children, Lacey Echols Crockett, Mark Echols, and Eddie Echols, and his 5 grandchildren, Hannah Ray, Casey Crockett, Katie Lee Crockett, Ben Echols, and Lizzie Echols.
A graveside service for Edgar will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent’s Birmingham Bruno Cancer Center.
