

Curtis was born into a family of builders in Birmingham, Alabama, as the second of four sons of BG and Myrtle Brasher. He worked in the family business before earning a degree in Building Construction from Auburn University. While at Auburn, he met and married Angelyn Latham, whom he lovingly called his "living angel."
A man of dedication and service, Curtis built a career as a builder and additionally worked as a Construction Project Manager for Union Oil. He also pursued his passion for aviation as a pilot in his own aviation company. His service extended to his country as well—he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force.
Curtis was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Debra Marie Brasher; his first wife, Angelyn Latham Brasher; his second wife of 46 years, Margean Murphree Brasher; and his brothers, Gilbert Brasher, Charles Brasher, and William Brasher.
He is survived by his children: Edward C. Brasher Jr. (Natalie) of Palm Harbor, FL; Michael A. Brasher (Lisa) of Houston, TX; Robert W. Brasher of Galveston, TX; and Diana M. Griffin (Mark) of Theodore, AL. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Curtis found joy in gardening—winning multiple Yard Beautification Awards in Pelham, Alabama. He was a skilled baker much to the delight of his family and friends, and was a longtime member of Vestavia Hills Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held at John-Ridout's Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, AL, from 9–11 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, followed by a graveside service with military honors at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery.
Curtis’s legacy of service, love, and dedication will be cherished by all who knew him.
