Born in Jefferson County on October 5, 1954, Eleanor was the daughter of Marion Holland “Babe” Salmon and Annabell Gresham Salmon. She worked for Stanley Caplan Educational Services in Birmingham before retiring to her home in Mountain Brook.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Salmon Hudson; her parents, Annabell and Marion; her brother, Herbert Spencer Salmon III; and her nephew, Herbert Spencer Salmon IV.
She is survived by her nephews, David Marion Salmon of Muscadine, AL, and Arthur Hudson IV (“AJ”); her brother-in-law, Arthur Hudson III; her sister-in-law, Ernestine Beverly; as well as a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives, and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at John-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL, with Brother Mark Crisswell officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, with Elmwood Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
