Elizabeth B. Bourn Bell

BELL, ELIZABETH BOURN “BETTY”, age 88, of Birmingham, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. She was born June 17, 1924 in Atlanta, GA. She moved to Alabama in 1940 and graduated from Woodlawn High School. She was an active member of Crestway Baptist Church and enjoyed a long, successful career with First National Life Insurance Co. of America until her retirement in 1980. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Frank G. Bell, Jr.; sister, Kay Hollis; daughters, Ginger Bell Downie and Peggy Bell Craven; grandchildren, Scott Downie, Michael Downie, Jenny Craven Stewart and Mimi Craven Poole; great grandchildren, Alyssa Downie, Ryan Downie, Elizabeth Downie, Maggie Poole, Luke Poole and Paul Stewart. In addition she has enjoyed a special and loving relationship with her nephew Rick Swagler and his family Susan, Allison, Andrew and Eleanor. The family would like to express their appreciation to Home Instead Senior Care and their care giver Eva Richardson for the loving kindness shown to Mrs. Bell. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 1-2 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning in the chapel at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
