Ella Beatrice Austin, Age 91 Died 08/11/2013. Ella Beatrice Austin was born April 25, 1922. From an early age, she devoted herself to caring for and nurturing others, giving up school in order to help raise her siblings. She was a devoted wife to Elvin Leon Austin, and she filled her days loving and caring for him and their six children. Affectionately known as "Mama Bea" by all who knew her, she spent her entire life selflessly and tirelessly serving those around her. She fulfilled the ideal picture of motherhood to her children and 19 grandchildren She was preceeded in death by her parents R.H. and Ella Vincent Hamlett,husband Elvin L. Austin, son Bill J. Austin, granddaughter Nicole Hill Bradley, brother Robert Hamlett and sisters Helen Baird and Navarrah Hamlett. She is survived by daughters Joyce Benson (Melvin), Barbara "Jeannie" Hill Robbins (Robby), Penny DeSantis (Pat) and sons Butch Austin (Leigh) and Jim Austin (Nellie). She also had 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grand children. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13th at Ridouts Elmwood Chapel with family visitation from 9:30am to 10:00am and general visitation from 10:00am to 11:30am. Funeral services at 11:30.
