Emma age 87 of Gardendale went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, January 22, 2015. She is survived by her significant other, Jerry Snider; sister, Elmyra Morrison; nieces, Myra Hand (Harris), Mary Elliott, all of Oxford. Her nephew, Butch Burbage of Birmingham; and nieces Nan Sadler of Gardendale and Cynthia Smith of Iowa, and a number of great nieces and nephews. Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Myra Burbage; brothers, S.P. Burbage Jr., William B. Burbage, and Charles H. Burbage. She was a former member of Acipco United Methodist Church and present member of Huffman United Methodist Church. Emma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Fultondale where she loved to dance and very involved at the Gardendale Senior Center. She was a retired Assistant Comptroller at Industrial Supplies, Inc. The family would like to thank everyone at East Glen Nursing Home for their loving care. The family will receive friends at Elmwood Chapel on Saturday, January 24th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a Chapel service to follow immediately. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Dr. Harris N. Hand and Rev. Leslie Hand.
