Burke, Frank Wayne “Widetrack” of Vestavia, age 70 died May 19, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Shades Valley High School where he was on the football team, the track and field team, and was in the Concert band. He attended Bessemer State Technical School where he studied auto mechanics. He retired from U.S. Steel in 2002. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Westover, Alabama. He loved spending time camping at Lake Guntersville State Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Annabelle Burke; and two brothers, Homer Burke and Tommy Burke. He is survived by his loving wife, Leta Weaver Burke; two daughters, Susanna Burke Calfee (Eric) and Christine Alexander; six grandchildren, Andrea Alexander, Christopher Alexander, Caleb Calfee, Madyson Calfee, Hannah Calfee, and Benjamin Calfee; three brothers, Jerome Burke, Clarence Burke (Sharon), and Michael Burke (Celecia); two sisters, Phyllis Foster (Tim) and Anita Harden (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends an hour prior to service. The service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Elmwood Chapel with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
