GANUS, GERALD A., age 71, of Gardendale, died May 13, 2014. He was a MAJ (Ret) of the United States Air Force, serving in Viet Nam. He later practiced law in the Birmingham area. Mr. Ganus attended Birmingham Southern College and Cumberland School of Law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma H. and Edgar H. Ganus and brother, Gary E. Ganus.
He is survived by his sister, Gloria Sandlin (Donald) Hartley of Ft. Hood,Texas; niece, Amanda Endfinger of Birmingham; nephews, Eddie Ganus of Birmingham, SFC Matthew Sandlin of Ft. Riley, Kansas and SFC W.A. “Chip” Sandlin of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. May 17, 2014 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be One Hour prior at the funeral home.
