Gerry Frank Wallace, age 83, of Harmon Island in Pell City, Alabama, passed away on November 30, 2025. Born January 8, 1942, in Powhatan, Alabama (West Jefferson County), Gerry lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved children: Darrell Wallace (Donna), Chris Wallace (Beth), Frank Wallace (Sharon), and Dawn Minor; six cherished grandchildren: Patrick Wallace (Whitney), Daniel Wallace (Nicole), Tucker Minor, Mary Gaston, Annie Bryant, and Herbert Bryant; and eleven great-grandchildren. Gerry also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Lynne Wallace, his niece Alyson Luzetsky (Jay) and their three children, and his faithful dog, Rosey. He will be remembered fondly by a host of dear friends on Harmon Island at Logan Martin Lake.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Margaret Wallace, his sister Jimmie Sue Wiggins, and his daughter Cheyenne.
A graduate of West End High School in Birmingham, Gerry went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Sea Leopard (SS 483), USS Nathan Hale (SSBN 623 Gold), and USS George C. Marshall (SSBN 654 Blue). After his military service, he built a successful career with Revere Control Systems, retiring after many years of dedicated work.
Gerry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, loyalty, and love of life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout’s Chapel Elmwood, 800 Dennison Ave SW, followed by graveside services with military honors at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Savers of Pell City, Inc. (ASPCI), P.O. Box 566, Pell City, AL 35125—a cause close to Gerry’s heart.
