

Gwendolyn Ann Kelley, was born on December 16, 1945, in New York City, NY, and passed away on April 4, 2025, in Birmingham, AL at the age of 79. She was the second of six children and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family, and friends.
Gwendolyn was a loving wife to Paul Kelley Jr. with whom she shared countless memories and a deep, unwavering bond during their almost 40 years of marriage. During their life together, they had countless adventures. They traveled, enjoyed fine dining, worked in their garden, served their church, hosted family and friends at their home and raised their devoted daughter Pranati whom she adored and supported throughout her life. In addition, she was a dedicated mother to her two sons, Henry and Reuben, from a previous relationship.
“Gwen”, as she was known to all, was not only a dedicated wife, beloved mother, cherished sister, aunt, church member, and friend. She was an incredible supervisor and co-worker. She parlayed her love for cooking into a job as the Director of Nutritional Services at Medical Center East in Birmingham, AL. Her passion and dedication were evident in everything she did and her job was no exception. She was revered by those she served. She retired from Medical Center East after more than 30 years of service.
Gwen will always be remembered for her friendly and helpful nature, her infectious laughter, her love of cooking, passion for shopping, and her overall desire to always help everyone she encountered feel seen and loved. Gwen took pride in making everything around her more beautiful.
Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, William and Isabel Walker; sisters, Arnecia Page and Carolyn Walker; brother, William Walker Jr.; son, Reuben Rodriguez.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Paul Kelley Jr. ; daughter Pranati B. Walker; son, Henry Rodriguez Jr. ; sister, Jacqueline M. Moultry; brother-in-law Edgar Kelley (Sharon), host of additional family including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and countless friends.
Gwendolyn will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire and comfort her family for years to come.
