JOHNSON, HUGHIE PERRY “PETE”, age 88 of Birmingham, went to meet Jesus on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joyce Johnson; parents, John Cleve and Myrtie Johnson; 2 brothers, William and John; and 7 sisters, Dorothy, Mary, Helen, Atena, Ruby, Billie Jean and Betty Joyce. He is survived by his sister, Joan L. Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Pete worked many years with the Dixie Neon Company, and loved hunting and fishing. A special thanks to the staff at the Village at Cook Springs for taking great care of him. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 12:30 – 2 PM at Leeds Worship Center and his service will begin at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
