J. Heber Dews Jr.

Dan was a man who held a lot of love for others. He was a true patriot who was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic acts in Vietnam. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and J. Heber Dews Sr.; his wife, Gwendolyn Dews; and his brothers, William Philip Dews (Bill) and Robert David Cottle.

He is survived by his son, J. Heber Dews III (John); brother, Thomas Allan Dews; sister, Elizabeth Dews; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at Ridouts Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235. Burial will be at the Alabama National Cemetery at 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
