J. W. Brown, age 81, of Graysville AL, passed away November 7, 2021. He was a loving Husband, Father, PawPaw, Uncle, Brother, Cousin and Friend. He retired from the City of Birmingham, Traffic Engineering Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Gladys Brown, one sister Alice Brown, and 3 brothers Roy Brown, Harold Brown and David Brown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlene Brown, his children Robin Dorminey (James) and Bo Brown (Stephanie), his 4 beautiful granddaughters, Claudia Hallquist (Ryan), Dr. Caitlin Brown, Chloe Brown and Cana Brown, and his 4 sisters, Jewel Jones, Roberta Hill (Greg), Carol Wolfe ( Ronnie), and Linda Stanley, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a precious soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The Family would like to say thank you to all who reached out in compassion, and covered us in prayer. We love you all very much .
Visitation with the family will be held at Elmwood Chapel from 12:30pm until 2 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021, with funeral to immediately follow. Burial will occur immediately following the funeral service at Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Neal Hughes will be officiating.
