Rev.James D. (Don) Courson, age 83, of Birmingham, passed away October 22, 2016. Rev. Courson pastored several churches in Alabama and Tennessee before starting a business making physical therapy furniture. He was a longtime member of Huffman Baptist Church. Don on was deeply loved by his family and is survived by his wife, Frances Courson and four sons: Steve Courson (Gina), Jim Courson (Becky), Ron Courson (Eileen) and Danny Courson (Rhonda); 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations in memory of Rev. Courson be made to the Gideon’s Bible Society (www.gideons.org).
