Franklin, Sr., James Edward, age 76 of Alabaster passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, after a brief illness He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was loved and will be missed. Jim was retired from Western Auto with over 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Cuban Missle Crisis and was a long time member of New Covenant Fellowship Church. He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 52 years, Glenda Camp Franklin; two sons, James E. Franklin, Jr. and Kenny Franklin (Kris); his daughter, Staci Franklin Bridgewater (Monty); and grandchildren, Emily, Zac, and Nick Franklin, Matthew and Patrick Franklin, Claire and Perri Bridgewater; a brother, Carl Franklin; and two sisters, Margaret McCleney and Betty Jo Meacham.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 13th, at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 5 to 7 PM with services to be held Monday, May 14th at 11 AM in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
