HIPP, JAMES ROY, age 74 of Trussville, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 with his family by his side in Mt. Juliet, TN. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; and daughter, Robyn. He is survived by his daughters, Cindi Hipp Thomas and Michelle Griffin (Steven); son, Shane Aschton; stepsons, Phil and Ken Storie; sisters, Flo McDaniel (Hugh), Jean Green and Louise McDaniel (Buddy); 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 nephew. Jim and Frances enjoyed many years of traveling together. Jim worked over 40 years in law enforcement with the Birmingham Police Department and Jefferson County Services. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 1-2 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with his service beginning at 2 PM with Pastor Brett Green officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any Hospice Organization.
