James “Jimmy” Edward Mounier, Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on October 8, 1936 to the late Renee’ Louis Mounier and Kathryn Elizabeth Jeely Mounier. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Gail Mounier. He is survived by his children, Therese Renee’ Jones (Fred), Dana Mounier, Lisa Dulion (Bill), and James E. Mounier, Jr. (Christy); 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jimmy will always be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and gentle man. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and his family just as much. He was born into a loving Catholic family. Jimmy was an avid Alabama football fan. His favorite things to do were working in his yard, going to church, and spending time with his family.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 1pm until 2pm in the Celebration Chapel at Elmwood Chapel Funeral home. A celebration of life will follow at 2pm. Burial will be at Birmingham’s historic Elmwood Cemetery in block 29.
