James Cleveland O’Mary passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at the age of 94. James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister, Jimmie Nell Farris O’Mary his wife of 37 years and his recent wife Mary C. O’Mary and daughter Jane McSheridan.
His is survived by his daughter, Terri Wilkinson (James) and a blended family Wanda (Terry), Belinda, Joni (Mark), Jeri (Bill) and Julie; many beloved and blended grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many friends. He is also survived by his oldest friend Jack Collier (103).
James was born in Sulligent, AL on September 29, 1930 and lived in Alabama most of his life. He joined the Army and honorably served for 4 years. He worked in sales for Birmingham Sash and Door / Hutting for many years. After he retired, he worked for friends and family (off the payroll). He gladly served his community and church, Hillview Baptist, where he was also a Deacon.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 352113812, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
