Jeanette S. Burland

On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, Jeanette Stalcup Burland, beautiful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this world into Heaven at the age of 87. She was born in Dallas, Texas on November 27, 1935. On September 3, 1955, she married John Burland, and they raised two daughters, Cindy Arkle and Laura Beason. They have also held in their hearts, son Ken and daughter Julie, who both passed away as infants.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, R.K. and Bess Stalcup, as well as her sisters Jeanelle Palmer and Betty Helton. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband and sweetheart, John, her daughters, Cindy Arkle (Don) and Laura Beason, grandchildren Brandon Arkle (Leah), Adam Arkle, Julie Self (Matt), Kyle Beason (Sarah), Jordan Arkle (Bonnie) and Leigh Contratto (James), and great-grandchildren Natalie, Hudson and Nolan Self, Collins and Wynn Arkle, Lincoln and Everett Arkle and Anna Kate Beason. John and Jeanette loved each other dearly and affectionately called each other “Babe.”

Jeanette was a beautiful, loving, giving angel who loved God, her family and friends, as well as her beloved dog, Bo. Sweet Jeanette lived her life loving and playing to the fullest with her family, loving our Lord, her church and Bible reading, square dancing, sewing, traveling, camping, the beach, loving her dogs, watching birds and making sure they always had water. We all love and will miss her for all time.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4th 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham. Services will follow at 11:00 AM.
