MCKENZIE, JEANNE R. Age 50, of Birmingham, passed away on Wednesday January 4, 2012. She was a member of Mulga Methodist Church. Jeanne, loved having fun and helping others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jeanne was a mother to many, and a friend to all. Those who knew her will understand - there is no way words can describe her force of spirit, her talent for nurturing, her love for her family, and her impact on the lives of all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Edward E. McKenzie, 3 sons; Linn Matthew Slater Jr. (Rebecca), Edward Scott McKenzie (Melissa), and Adam Eugene McKenzie (Anna), 2 daughters; Stephanie Raven Slater and Brittany Rene' Slater, 1 brother, Frank Stephen Strength, 2 sisters; Cathy Conner (Randy), and Sherry Strength Hicks (Walter), 5 grandchildren; Olivia, Sophia, Amelia, Andrew McKenzie and Ava Slater, her Aunt, Edna Penny, 2 sister-in-laws; Carol Clayton and Sue Cunningham, 2 dear friends Anita Slayton and Vicki McKenzie, and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday January 7, 2012, at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday January 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Michael Simpson will be officiating service.
