John, age 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 15, 2015. John was a retired sergeant from the Birmingham Police Department after 26 years of service, and then retired from Jefferson County Criminal Court System after 16 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Jo Landman and brother, Sam Landman. John is survived by his loving wife, Marianne, of 38 years; his children, John Clinton Landman, Jr., James Adam Landman, Valerie Anne Landman, Alyson Marie Smith (Austin), and Lauren Ashley Dabbs (Christopher); his grandchildren, Lucas Landman, Trey Landman Brayden Smith, Grayson Smith, Easton Smith, and Calvin Dabbs; sisters, Lu Jean Tackaberry and Sara Jo Clay (Bud); brothers, Fred Bohannon (Debbie) and George Landman (Carol); and sister-in-law, Mary Sue Landman. The family will receive friends at Elmwood Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 18th with services beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UCP of Birmingham or Our Lady of the Lake Social Concerns in John’s memory.
