

Joseph Angelo Fiore, 80, passed away Sunday August 28, 2016. He is survived by his 4 children, Lisa Bostick, Dr. Joseph Fiore Jr., Amy McDuffie, Patti Pennino and 9 grandchildren. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was a life-long resident. He attended St. Paul’s Grammar School, John Carroll High School & graduated from Howard College in Birmingham with a degree in Pharmacy and a Minor in Chemistry. He worked as a pharmacist from 1957 until 2002 and owned Medical Towers Pharmacy for 32 years. He was a member of the Alabama Pharmacy Association, a past President and Director of Jefferson County Pharmacy Association and past President of Toastmasters Club #512. He was also in the Navy Reserve for 8 years as a Photographer. He was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a life member of American National Rifle Association and Brocks Gap Training Center (Formerly Steel City Club). He had a lifelong passion for model railroading and created the largest layout in the nation. People came from all over the country to see his craftsmanship. He was a member of the National Train Collectors Association, National Model Railroad Association, Southern Railroad Historical Society, and Union Pacific Historical Society. His love for his family was first and foremost. He loved his grandchildren and they loved and admired their “Papa Joe”. He will truly be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at Elmwood Chapel, in Birmingham, Alabama Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 11:00 am with a gathering of friends and family at 10:00 am.
