Joseph S. Schillaci

Joseph Sam Schillaci of Vestavia Hills, Alabama age 78, born February 10, 1943, passed from this life Wednesday, August 18, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was the owner of Major Equipment Company Inc. for many years until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Mountain Brook, Alabama. His hobbies included golfing, traveling, having lunch with friends, and collecting wise sayings. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Sam Joseph Schillaci and Josephine Ceravolo Schillaci. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ethel Ardovino Schillaci, brother Jake Schillaci (Jackie), sister Cecelia Melton (Charles), son Joseph Sam Schillaci Jr. (Geneva), daughter Joanna Schillaci Albrecht (Andrew), grandchildren Heaven Kohn (Adam), Joseph Sam Schillaci III (Katelyn), James Branyon Schillaci, Alyssa Lauren Albrecht, Alexis Rose Albrecht, great-grandchildren Madeline, Gracie, Armer James, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood, Alabama, Friday, August 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian burial, Father Vimal officiating. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers Joseph Sam Schillaci III, James Branyon Schillaci, Sam Harduvel, Louis Ardovino, Victor DeJohn III, and Timothy Melton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the CICU unit at Grandview Medical Center for their Christ-like care.
