She was a part owner and a beautician at her beauty salon located in downtown Birmingham for many years. She was very devoted to her family and was a mentor to many of her nieces and nephews. Josephine was a faithful and devoted member of her church, Our Lady of Sorrows, for all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Glenn Ash, brother; Frank Simonetti, two sisters; Frances Dennis and Marie Guardina and a nephew; Richard Guardina. She is survived by her nephews; Donald Dennis, Michael Dennis, Michael Dennis Jr., Derek Guardina and Mikee Dennis, nieces; Anna Dennis and her daughter; Meadow Dennis, devoted friends; Charlotte Smith and Jeff Clements.
Josephine was a treasure to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice and Brookdale University Nursing Home for all their loving and professional care.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 9:00am-10:00am at johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, Alabama 35211 with a funeral service to follow at 10:00am. Burial will follow immediately in Elmwood Cemetery Block#44.
