Joyce Holcomb

Joyce Holcomb, 82, of Trussville, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 12, 2018. She was born to the late John W. and Wilma Wilson in Birmingham, AL on March 14, 1935. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was married to her surviving husband, A.H. Holcomb, for 65 years. The joy of her life was her family and friends. She was supportive of everyone and a cheerleader for all. Joyce was very involved with the Huffman High School baseball program with Coach Phil English in the 1970s. Professionally, Joyce supported and worked for her son David’s dental practice for 35 years. She was loved by everyone who met her and will be deeply missed.

Joyce was preceded in passing by her mother-in-law, Violet Holcomb.

She is survived by her husband, A.H. Holcomb; her children, Dr. David Holcomb (Ginger), Juli Bradshaw (Scott), and Steve Holcomb (Stephanie); her brother, John W. Wilson (Alice); her grandchildren, Tyler, Asheley (Wes), Matt (Samantha), Lauren, Hunter, and Heath; 5 great-grandchildren, Emerson, Vivian, Wesley, Shepherd, Luke, and one on the way; her 2 nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 16 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Clearview Baptist Church, 5271 Old Springville Rd, Pinson, AL 35126 in memory of Joyce.
