Hicks, Julia Flewellen, age 88, a long time resident of East Lake passed away Friday, September 30,2011.She was a long time member of the East Lake Bible Methodist Church where she played the piano for many years. Julia resided the past 5 years at the TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta,Al.She was preceded in death by her husband,Robert M. Hicks; a son, John S. Hicks; a daughter, Barbara J. Hicks; her parents, John L. and Ruby Canoles; 1 brother and 5 sisters.She is survived by her loving children, 2 sons; Robert L. Hicks (Doris), and Steve M. Hicks (Jan);a daughter, Ellen Brooks (Jim); 15 grandchildren; numerous great -grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday,October 3,2011 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 11- 12 Noon with Graveside services to follow at 1:00 PM in Elmwood Cemetery.
