HORTON, MIRIAM SMITH, age 89 of Fort Payne formerly of Birmingham, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Horton; and parents, Ruth Reynolds and Lyman V. Smith. She is survived by her brothers, Bennie Smith (Ann) and Jim Smith (Jane); and numerous nieces and nephews. Miriam was a member of First Baptist Church of Roebuck Plaza and retired from All-South Subcontractors. Her family will receive friends on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 11-12 with her service beginning at 12 noon. The family gives special thanks to the members of First Baptist Church of Roebuck Plaza for their prayers and support, DeKalb Regional Medical Center, and New Beacon Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Roebuck Plaza.
