

Born in Birmingham, Alabama to Joe N. Pilleteri and Rosemary George Pilleteri, he graduated from Jones Valley High School. Lee owned Pilleteri Maytag and retired after being in business for over 40 years. He was a resident of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, for 36 years, where he was very dedicated to his community. Lee was a member of the Vestavia Hills school board, President of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of “I Love America Day” and the Annual Christmas Parade. His dedication earned him the title Vestavia Hills Citizen of Year. Lee was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama, St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Panama City Beach, Florida, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceding Lee in death is his parents, Joe N. Pilleteri and Rosemary George Pilleteri. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, June Swinney Pilleteri; his children, Joe L. (Dawn) Pilleteri; Junie P. Richard (Jason Hill); grandson, Jack Pilleteri; his brothers, Ben (Martha) Pilleteri; Joe (Nam) Pilleteri; sister, Mary Jo (Tommy) Sizemore; many sister and brother-in-laws, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Funeral services for Lee will be held at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the American Heart Association in honor of Lee at www.heart.org
