Leroy King, age 84, of Leeds passed away April 29, 2016. Mr. King is survived by his wife of 51 years Gladys King; son Jeff King (Lora); daughters Jennifer Blackwood (James) and Paula Maddox (Tommy); grandchildren Brian, Kyle, Paige, Leslie, Courtney, and T. J.; one great-grandchild Parker; and sister Jean Peterson (Homer).
He was born in Edgewater, AL and grew up in Pleasant Grove, AL where he attended Minor High School. He served in the U. S. Army as a medic stationed in Okinawa during the Korean War. He loved helping others including his family. He enjoyed yard work and gardening. He accepted Christ at an early age and led an exemplary life. He is a current member of The Healing Place Church. He served as an usher at Cathedral of the Cross previously.
Visitation will be Monday at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Forest Crest Cemetery.
