Lige James

Lige "Buddy" James, 90 of Birmingham, AL went to Heaven on 12-26-2017. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will never forget his generosity toward others and the great love he had for his family. Dedicated to his wife for 62 years of marriage and daddy to 8 children, who loved him dearly. He was always smiling & never complained. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He taught us how to work hard, give generously and love big. He loved to laugh and was the best story teller there ever was. He worked 36 years for Birmingham Fence Company. Born October 25, 1927 in Kimberly, AL and grew up in Little Vine, AL. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Terri Renae James and grandson, Bobby Reno of Warrior. He is survived by his wife Mattie Bunn James, children, Deborah (Steve) Linard, Judy Reno, Suzie (Mike) Morey, Kathy Carroll, Janet (Erik) Anderson, Buster (Cynthia) James, Son-in-law, Robert (Terri) Aaron and Robert's sister Lyn, 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Graham Manning, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 11-12 at The Healing Place Church with his service beginning at 12, burial will follow at Warrior Cemetery. And so, even though our hearts break, this is what we know: God is who He says He is and this separation isn't final. We will see you again.
