Rikard, Lorene Fancher, age 101, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother was called home on February 9, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Alton Rikard; son William Alan Rikard; parents Moode and Carrie Fancher; sister Myrtle Lee Burnett; 4 brothers OB, Glen, Huey and Jimmie Fancher. She is survived by her daughter Linda Barefield (David); daughter in-law Colleen Rikard; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Lorene grew up and raised her family in Birmingham. Lorene served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at UAB hospital for 10 years. “Mother”, “Grandma”, “Granny” lived life to the fullest. She loved her family, reading, gardening and bird watching. She will be missed until we meet again. Graveside services only will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Birmingham Ronald McDonald House or the Birmingham Humane Society.
