Margaret H Thrasher

Margaret Pauline Hobson Thrasher, 97, born October 11, 1919 in Sheffield, Alabama died Saturday, December 03, 2016. She was married to Raymond Eugene Thrasher, Sr. (deceased 11-20-1985) and had 3 sons, Raymond Eugene Thrasher, Jr. (Lorez); David Ray Thrasher, (deceased); and Ron D. Thrasher . She also had three grandsons: William (Billy) Eugene Thrasher (Julie); David Wayne Thrasher; and Thomas Ray Thrasher (deceased).

Margaret was in her youth a stunning 5’2’’ woman with Irish red hair and porcelain skin. She enjoyed a good laugh (however, her Irish temper could flair!) and was a kind and giving person. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She and her husband had many friends and family but most preceded her in death. Margaret was a member of the Acipico Chapter of the Eastern Star where she was the Grand Worthy Matron at one time.

She was a staunch Union supporter and Democrat due to Raymond Sr. being a train engineer and Union man. She had faith in mankind, loved life and at the great age of 89 proudly voted for Barack Obama in 2008. Raised as a Methodist, Margaret became an Episcopalian, joining Grace Episcopalian Church in Woodlawn, Birmingham.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 6, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Forest Crest Cemetery.
