Marie Wilkinson Roy 94, of Hueytown , Ala. passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was born January 4, 1923 in Lewisburg, Alabama, the daughter of Japsy Foil Wilkinson and Bea Chambers Wilkinson. She graduated from Minor High School and subsequently worked as a bookkeeper for Protective Life Insurance Company. Later she managed and taught at a beauty school in Hueytown. And was a partner in a business with her husband. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and later was active in a nondenominational church. Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Russell and Clyde Wilkinson and her husband Thomas E. (Ed) Roy. Ms. Roy is survived by her daughter Janett Skelton (Glenn) of Trussville, Alabama and her grandson Ian Skelton (Yen Yen) of Savannah, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Heart Association.
