She was born on July 13, 1931 to Merritt and Vallie Virginia Davis in Thorsby, AL who preceded her in death, along with brothers, James H. Davis, Oscar P. Davis, John M. Davis, Troy H. Davis and Larry Davis.
Ms. Davis is survived by her younger brother, Richard L. Davis (Jean Carol) as well as sisters-in-law, Belva Davis, Jackie Davis, and Vi Davis, along with numerous nephews and nieces who reside in Tennessee, Florida, California and Alabama. Ms. Davis was particularly close to nephews, Richard L. Davis Jr. James D. Davis and nieces, Jan Davis and Leesa Davis, who helped care for her in her final years, along with the kind, professionals at Fairhaven, Oasis Hospice, Dear Seniors and Home Instead. An avid sports follower, Ms. Davis enjoyed golf, tennis, Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves baseball. She was 25 years employed and retired at Ebsco Industries before working in the Florida real estate field for a few years and retiring for a second time from Custom Advertising Display in Vestavia Hills, AL. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society in Ms. Davis’s memory. A celebration of Jean’s life will be Saturday February 10, 2018 at 10 am.
