I was still a kid when Uncle John and Aunt Mary got married, but even then, I could tell that their relationship was "something very special". I was very blessed to have known Aunt Mary. Her and Uncle John both were saved and loved the Lord Jesus. They spent the rest of John's life together, and she was quite like a fish out of water after he became ill and more so after he died. They truly loved and enjoyed each other's friendship so very much! I have no sadness for her...she is with the Lord Jesus she loved and served all her life and with those who "got there" before she did. Her and Uncle John are completely well and  enjoying Heaven, so I know that they are just fine.

I was sorry that I was unable to be there at this time. Aunt Mary and I had two days together in April when I was in the U.S. that we spent going out to eat, shopping, and just enjoying each other. It was a precious time and a precious "last memory" to add to all the many other "precious memories" that I have of her and Uncle John.

My prayers are with all of you, her children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends who loved her so very much and will miss her so much. Take comfort in remembering just how happy, blessed, and free that she is now.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have admired Aunt Mary's beauty and gentility. She was a special aunt and person and will be missed. It is so very sad to mark the passing of the last of the three siblings--Aunt Mary, Aunt Edna, and my dad, Jack Hardin. With much love to all of the family ... so sorry Charlie, Ellen, Catherine, and I cannot be with you at this sad time. P.S. The attached photo of Aunt Mary, my daughter Ellen, and Aunt Edna one of my favorites.

Mary and John were Neighbors to my brother(David Huddleston Jr.) and his wife(Penni)for seceral years. This is where I got to know Mary. She was such a precious, sweet, gentle loving and kind person. I am so glad to have known Mary and John. They will both be missed greatly. Our thoughts and Prayers are with all the family.

We first met Mary and John in 1973 when we moved in next door to them in Seneca, SC.  We became instant friends ---- eating in and out together, traveling to Clemson football games and other destinations, or just sitting in the swing between our homes discussing life issues. (All the problems of the world were solved on that swing!)  They were our best friends, God Parents to our son, and a mentor to both our daughter and son.       

Last year we brought Mary back to our home in S.C. and we all relived those earlier and memorable times. What a wonderful week that was!!  

Mary was a beautiful person  -  gracious, hospitable, and a true Christian lady.  She could also make the most delicious (perfect) divinity!   We loved her and we miss her.  She impacted our lives in so many positive ways.

Mary and John were very dear friends.  Like Mary Ann Sidle said, it was always such a joy to be at Mary's house for supper club.  I learned so much from her gentle ways and my husband always said that Mary was a true example of a Southern Lady.  We' miss her so very much.

I lived next door to Mary growing up in Belvedere.Even as a child, I knew she was lovely inside and out.I particularly remember her riding a bicycle(!) even before it was fashionable to exercise.My thoughts go out to Jan, George, and Nick. Fondly, Georgia Willis Rhodes, Greensboro AL

I will always treasure the Supper Club nights with our precious neighbors. It was always a treat to visit her home on her hostess night because we never knew what wonderous meal she would serve. Loved her gentle smile and gracious hospitalily. Living next door to Mary and John was a joy and will never be forgotten.
