

Born on October 9, 1946, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond H. Wallwork and Mary Wallwork. She grew up with a strong sense of family, warmth, and kindness that would shape the way she lived her life and cared for others.
On August 23, 1969, Jane married the love of her life, Whit Kennedy. Their marriage of more than five decades was a testament to unwavering devotion, partnership, and deep love. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and shared memories. From their union came their cherished son, Scott Kennedy.
Jane dedicated 44 years of her professional life to Liberty National/Torchmark Corporation, where she was known for her reliability, dedication, and friendly spirit. Her colleagues remember her not only for her strong work ethic but also for the laughter and light she brought into the workplace each day.
Known for her quick wit and joyful nature, Jane had a special gift for making others feel welcome and uplifted. Her warmth, humor, and genuine kindness left lasting impressions on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She found great joy in her family, especially in her role as a grandmother, where she created treasured memories filled with love and laughter.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Whit Kennedy; her loving son, Scott (Toni) Kennedy; and her treasured grandchildren, Jennie Kennedy, Austin Dixon, Evan Dixon, and Caitlin Dixon. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Wallwork; and her sisters-in-law, Marsha Kennedy Ham and Sandra Wallwork. Jane’s legacy lives on through each of them, carried forward in the love she so freely gave.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum.

Mary Jane Kennedy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, her joyful spirit, and the countless lives she touched.
