Mary Irene Tremelling

Mary Irene Tremelling, 76, of Wilsonville, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on Sunday, October 23, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; daughter Shelley and her husband Derek; daughter Allison and her husband Stephen; daughter Mary Beth and her husband Greg; son Matthew; and sister Betty. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth, sister Judy, and brother Jim.

Mary was a rescuer of all creatures. She was tender-hearted and could not turn a blind eye to an animal in need. This is how she ended up with ten pets at one time! She enjoyed showering her many animal rescues with love and affection.

Mary loved to be involved in peoples’ lives and she wanted the details so she could get to praying for you. She always remembered important dates and sent cards. She spent her career working as an administrative assistant at Compass Bank in Birmingham. There she formed lifelong friendships that meant the world to her. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed really long chats on the phone.

Mary dedicated her life to God and his word. We located many journals of her studies of the Holy Bible. She was a prayer warrior and had a prayer list a mile long. She would present your needs to the Lord for years unless you told her you had received an answer to prayer or resolution to your struggles.

Mary recognized God’s handiwork in the beauty that she saw around her. She loved nature and wildlife and had become particularly fascinated with birds. She had numerous bird feeders in her yard and had learned to use a phone app that would allow her to identify them by song. She was always looking for signs from God. She knew He cared about the smallest details of her life and relished the moments when He intervened or revealed himself to her. Mary was fascinated with angels! She prayed that her children were surrounded by angels every day. We know her angel was in her room ready to guide her into the glorious light of Jesus Christ as she left us for her true home.
