

Myron Ray Lamont, age 76, of Trussville, AL. He was a distinguished combat pilot and Airline Captain. He passed away on January 14, 2026. Myron was a California native born on April 24, 1949, to Sherman Myron and Eva Lucetta Lamont.
Myron’s aviation career began as a Cobra Helicopter combat pilot in Vietnam – peaked as an airline Captain, Flight Instructor, Simulator instructor for various airlines all over the world, retired from airline pilot to complete the circle as a search and rescue pilot in Alaska North Slope.
He met his wife Sabine in Berlin, Germany. Together they traveled and lived all over the world. Mostly in Germany, Tiawan, Japan, USA and most recently residing in Trussville, AL. His hobbies and passions included reading, golfing, scuba diving, studying history, enjoying music and traveling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sabine Lamont, his daughters, Barbara Sabal and Leanne Foster, and his sisters, LaNay Hambrook and Charlotte Fuhriman. He also leaves behind his dear in-laws Jürgen Reisch & Diana Frenzel, and his best friends Richard Patte, Bob Mercier.
A memorial service will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Friends and family will gather one hour prior. Pastor Larry Smith will preside over the service.
