Nelda Jean Ferguson

Nelda Jean Ferguson , beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 27,2024 at the age of 78. She was born on July 1, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama, to her parents William and Medie Newsom.

Nelda was a devoted wife to her husband Jerry Ferguson “The Love of Her Life” celebrating 61 years of marriage together. Nelda was a graduate of Ramsey High School, Class of 1963. She retired from Motion Industries after dedicating herself to her work with passion and diligence. After retirement she and Jerry moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Nelda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her family. She cherished every moment shared with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nelda's eyes would light up with excitement at the thought of embarking on cruises with Jerry, exploring new destinations, and creating cherished memories together. She had a passion for sewing, and her creations were a testament to her creativity and skill.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Jerry, her son Heath (Robbie) Ferguson, her 5 grandchildren Matt (Kristen) Ferguson, Jared Myers, Katie Ferguson, Macie Allred, Justin (Aubrey) Ferguson, and her 2 great-grandchildren Logan Ferguson and Jetson Ferguson. Nelda's warm smile, loving heart, and unwavering presence will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, located at 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on April 5, 2024.

Graveside Service officiated by Pastor Greg Traweek, will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery, located at 5370 US 78, Birmingham, Alabama 35210, at 2:30 PM.
