Peggy J Mayhew

Mayhew, Peggy age 90 of Irondale Alabama died on July 12, 2022. She was a member of Avondale Presbyterian for over 40 years before it closed. She regularly attended Mt. Brook Independent Church the rest of her life. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; Hugh and Zella Johnston. Beloved husband; William “Bill” Mayhew. She is also preceded in death by her Brothers; Cecil, Joe and Ray Johnston and daughter in law, Delesia “Sally” Mayhew. Peggy is survived by her 2 children; Steven (Lisa) Mayhew, Cecil Mayhew. Grandchildren; Sam Mayhew, Melissa Mayhew, Brent “Butch” Mayhew, Jennifer Mayhew, Celia Hodnett, Candice Willis and Kayce Brown. Peggy is also survived by her 13 Great Grandchildren. The family would like to thank the caregivers; Leesa Trull and Ramona Robinson as well as Comfort Care Hospice. Peggy was the owner of Apollo Vending Company Inc. Corp from 1986 to 2011. She had a passion for working and building up her company, reading her books, her plants and gardening, family gatherings, fellowship at her church. A visitation for Peggy will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Following the service, The Internment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama with Ron Dauphine officiating.
