Phillip was a navy veteran of the Korean War & participated in the nation's first Veterans Day Parade at age 19 that was held in Birmingham, AL.
Phillip was preceded in death by his wife Nancy of 49 years, his parents, sisters Dorothy Gunter, Gladys Criss & brother Herman Criss. Phillip is survived by son Thomas (Karen); daughter, Nancy Ann;
grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey (Lane); and great-grandson Rhett Dallas Hill, who is due in November.
