Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Phyllis made Birmingham her home for most of her life. She was a proud graduate of Samford University and built a remarkable career in real estate—becoming one of the youngest licensed brokers in the state of Alabama. In her later years, she dedicated herself to the family’s property management business, where her integrity and compassion guided everything she did.
In 2010, Phyllis was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Birmingham YMCA for her exceptional service, dedication, and commitment to the community—a reflection of the heart and faith that defined her life.
Her faith was the cornerstone of who she was. She was deeply involved in her church and passionate about community outreach, always seeking to share God’s love in practical ways.
Phyllis found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—reading, walking, and spending time at the beach—and she cherished every moment with her family and friends. Her warmth, grace, and generosity touched countless lives.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved son, John Seale, and his wife Kinsey; her stepsons, Lance Seale, Grant Seale, and Brad Seale; her brothers, Everett Brooks Jr. and his wife Melanie, and Bob Brooks and his wife Pat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
