Ralph Don Hovater, age 93, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Gibel and Penny Skinner; grandchildren, Jamie Russell and Aaron Walker; great-grandchildren, Amelia Russell, Caroline Russell and Atlas Walker; Don is also survived by his sister, Edith Martin along with numerous nieces and nephews. Don grew up in Franklin County, AL and moved to Birmingham in his twenties to work at A&P Grocery. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for over 40 years. Don loved his family and taking care of the flowers in his yard. He was a loving husband, father and pawpaw who will be missed by all. There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Boaz, AL beginning at 2:00 PM.
