Reid was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Coy and Olga Tyler. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, during which time he was in Gaeta, Italy, on the Destroyer tender “The Puget Sound”. Reid attended both Jefferson State Community College and Auburn University where he earned a certification as a Medical Lab Technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy G. and Olga Tyler and his sister, Carol A. Tyler. He is survived by, his brother, Peter L. Tyler (Linda); sister, Natalie T. Minor (Gary); nieces, Paige T. Raymond (George) and Gretchen Minor; nephews, Blake Tyler (Caitlin), Spencer Minor and Logan Minor; and dear friends, Roger and Jacqueline Thomas.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 2:00 p.m. in Massey Line Cemetery. A visitation will also be on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel
