Richard Charles Chapman, Sr. age 75, of Anniston, AL, formerly of Prattville, AL and Birmingham, AL died Monday, January 30 after a long illness. He was pre-deceased by his father and mother, Richard M. Chapman and Margaret McConnell Chapman, his brother Herbert David Chapman and sister, Margaret Ann Knowles. He is survived by the mother of his children, Kay Tanner Chapman, Hoover, Al; a daughter, Karen Ann Chapman Simpson (Tim), Oxford, AL; son, Richard Charles Chapman, Jr. (Clara DelGrosso), Fultondale, AL; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10-11a.m. with funeral services following at 11a.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. Burial at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Dora, AL. The family requests in lieu of flowers to make memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
