Robert Edgar Fuller, age 89, was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 3, 1928, and died on December 21, 2017 in St. Clair County while living at Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home. He was a Korean War veteran, having served aboard the destroyer USS Jarvis DD-799. Bobby, as he was affectionately called, never married, but enjoyed “growing up” with all of his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wardlaw Fuller; his mother, Ila Lois Harvey McGill Fuller; his brother, William Elmer McGill; and his sister, Helen Virginia Fuller Lee. Visitation will be at Elmwood Chapel on Wed. Dec. 27 from 10am to 11am, with the service beginning at 11am. Graveside services with military honors to follow immediately after. Performing the service will be David Haley, minister of North Shelby church of Christ, where Bobby was a faithful and dedicated member.
