

Ronald Link Levan, born on May 17, 1946, in Empire, Alabama was sent to his eternal home on August 7, 2025, at St. Martin in the Pines, Hospice Facility due to an inoperable colon cancer. Ron, as he was known by his family and friends, had a profound and positive impact on their lives. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Link and Phoebe Levan. He is survived by his loving wife Sherry of 59 years, children Scott Levan, Dana Williamson (Timothy), grandchildren Molly Hall (Jake), Evan Williamson (Bre), and Ethan Williamson. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Rod Counts (Sharon) which he loved like a brother, sister-in-law Leslie Tatum (Larry), nieces Lindsey and Lana Tatum, and Amy Sanford. After graduating from Tarrant High School, Ron attended Howard College and then joined the U.S. Army where he served 4 years in the Army Security Agency. During his years of service he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After leaving the military he began his long and successful career in the steel industry. He retired from CMC Steel, formerly known as SMI Steel. His career took him to many different countries over the years, which greatly contributed to his wealth of knowledge in the Rolling Mill. Ron was a member of Deerfoot Church of Christ. Ron most loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and most of all he loved cruising. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Thursday August 14th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. The funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Crest Cemetery.
